Savoury beef mince

Savoury mince is a quick and easy meal that is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is full of gut healing foods. It is great to freeze so you always have a quick meal on standby. You can get creative but this is my basic recipe.

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g grass fed/finished minced beef
  • 1/2 red onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 carrot coarsely grated
  • 1 zucchini coarsely grated
  • 1 cup Nomato sauce or tomato passata
  • 1/2 cup chicken or beef meat stock
  • 2 tablespoons beef organ powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • handful chopped fresh basil
  • handful chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt

METHOD

In a large frypan heat ghee and add onions and saute until soft.

Add zucchini and carrot and cook until veggies start to soften. Add mince and garlic to frypan. Break up the mince with a wooden spoon and cook until beef is brown.

Add Nomato/tomato sauce, stock, beef organ powder, herbs and salt

Cook for 15 minutes or until desired consistency. If mince becomes too dry you can add more stock or water to loosen.

Serve on its own or with zucchini noodles, sauerkraut and a dollop of 24 hour sour cream
